U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo stated that the process of the withdrawal of the American military contingent from Syria takes place, Newsmax reported.

“Our troops are pulling out, they will leave Syria. I don't want the adversaries to know precisely when we will be departing”, Pompeo said.

He added that the U.S. will continue the campaign on the confrontation against Iran’s action in the Near East region.

As we reported President of U.S. Donald Trump proclaimed the victory over the terrorist organization of “Islamic State” in Syria. U.S. Department of Defense reported that it plans a “complete” and “rapid” withdrawal of the American troops from Syria, as CNN reported citing the department.

Later, US Defense Secretary Jim Mattis announced his resignation the day after President Donald Trump overruled his advice against withdrawing the troops from Syria and pressed forward on discussions to pull out of Afghanistan.

Besides, a representative of the Pentagon confirmed signing the order about the withdrawal of the U.S. forces from Syria.
