The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko hails the US Congress decision to adopt new set of the sanctions against Russia. He reported this at Facebook.
'I congratulate on the adoption of the new set of the sanctions against Russia by the US Congress. It is the resolute signal of the united and sympathetic support of Ukraine by the American president', he noted.
Ukrainian president added that he believes in steady US attitude in issue of honest and unavoidable punishment of aggressor.
The US Senate voted for the new sanctions against Russia, Iran and North Korea. The draft law should be signed or imposed with veto by the president Donald Trump. Even if he decides to impose the veto at the draft law, it will receive enough support from the US Senate to abolish the president's veto and to adopt the law.
98 senators voted for the new sanctions for Russia, Iran and North Korea, 2 senators opposed.
