Poroshenko believes that the U.S. and Europe must not allow Russian vessels to their ports. The President of Ukraine claimed this in an interview to Fox News, reports the press office of the Presidential Administration.

‘In this situation (Russia's blocking of shipping in the Kerch Strait and the Sea of Azov, - 112 International), Russian vessels must be prohibited to enter European and American ports,’ Petro Poroshenko noted.

He stressed that Ukraine is ready to coordinate actions in this matter with the partners.

Poroshenko recalled that 40 percent of our exports of steel products pass through the Ukrainian ports on the Azov Sea in Mariupol and Berdyansk. Consequently, the blockade and occupation of the Sea of Azov by Russia have significant economic consequences.

‘We can’t tolerate this, neither us, nor the European Union,’ Petro Poroshenko claimed, having added that it concerns the U.S. too.

He noted that the passage through the Kerch Strait is also blocked for ships that go under the flags of the EU countries.

In addition, according to Poroshenko, all Russian companies operating in the Kerch Strait are on the sanctions lists of the United States and the European Union and cooperation with them is illegal. 'In this situation, Russia is opposed to the whole world. Russia is blocking the freedom of navigation in the Ukrainian territorial waters,’ he stressed.
