US and European Union officials expressed concern that Russia has resumed its troop build-up near the border with Ukraine.

In particular, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that the US is concerned about "certain unusual movements of forces" that the US is observing on the border with Ukraine.

Blinken added that "there are cases when Russia accumulates forces on the borders with Ukraine, declares some kind of provocation from Ukraine and then invades."

He reiterated that it would be "a grave mistake for Russia to try to repeat what was done in 2014".

At the same time, EU Foreign Policy Speaker Peter Stano said at a briefing that the EU "continues to monitor the situation, and the information that the EU has collected raises serious concern," notes Euronews.

On November 11, Bloomberg reported that the United States of America had warned its European partners about a possible Russian military operation against Ukraine.

According to the agency, Washington's assessments are based on information that the American side has not yet shared with the EU. Officials familiar with the White House say this information is backed up by publicly available evidence.

Also recently, Politico published satellite images of the movement of Russian troops taken by the American space technology company Maxar Technologies, headquartered in Colorado. The images allegedly confirmed information that Russia is again concentrating troops and military equipment on the border with Ukraine.

However, Defence Council Secretary Danilov, in turn, called this data "deliberate disinformation."

Bloomberg later released a Janes report saying Russia was moving tanks to the Ukrainian border. This time the observers noticed a battalion of T80-U tanks in the Voronezh region.
