Marie Yovanovitch will become a successor to US Ambassador in Ukraine. Since 2012 she has held the position of Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European and Asian affairs, reported the "Day" newspaper, citing a source in the Foreign Ministry.
It is reported that Yovanovitch was responsible for bilateral relations with the countries of Scandinavia, the Baltic States and Central Europe. In addition, in 2008-2011, sheserved as the US Ambassador to Armenia, and in 2005-2008 - to Kyrgyzstan. Moreover, the diplomat has held the position of Deputy Chief of Mission in Ukraine.
