The US Navy's aircraft carrier group, led by the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier Karl Vinson, passed the Korean Strait on Saturday and entered the Japanese sea, according to the Japanese NHK television channel.

At the same time, two ships of the Japanese Marine Self-Defense Forces, which from April 23 conducted joint maneuvers with this carrier group, completed the exercises and separated from the other ships.

The channel recalls that, according to earlier information, the US aircaft carrier group and the South Korean Navy scheduled their joint military training at the end of April.

Earlier we reported that North Korea conducted unsuccessful ballistic missile test, it reportedly blew up over land.

The launched missile was probably the medium-range ballistic missile called a KN-17, according to US official, agency informs. This is a land-based solid-fuel missile fired from a mobile launcher.

The launch was conducted from Pukchang airfield, rocket did not reach the sea landing about 35 kilometers away from the airfield.
