US Air Force strategic bombers perform training flights over Black Sea region

B-52H, the U.S. Air Force strategic bombers have conducted joint training flights with the combat jets of Ukraine, Georgia and Romania. The U.S. European Command reported that on October 23.

"B-52 aircraft from the 2nd Bomb Wing operating out of RAF Fairford, U.K., recently returned from an extended duration flight in the Black Sea region focused on integration and interoperability training with European allies and partners. The flight, which lasted approximately 12 hours, included training with Romania, Ukraine and Georgia bordering the Black Sea (...) This deployment enhances global stability and security while enabling units to become familiar with the U.S. Air Forces Europe – U.S. Air Forces Africa area of responsibility", reads the message.

According to Interfax-Ukraine news agency, on October 10, the U.S. Air Force deployed four B-52H bombers on Fairford air base in the UK. After the trans-Atlantic flight was over, three bombers demonstratively approached the borders of Russia's Kaliningrad oblast and then landed in the UK.
