The United Kingdom welcomes the agreements reached during the Normandy Summit, which took place on November 9. This was reported on the Facebook page of the British Embassy in Ukraine.
"We welcome the commitments made by the Parties at the Normandy Four summit, in particular on the further disengagement of forces, a full-scale ceasefire and the exchange of detained persons," the statement said.
It is also noted that Britain continues to support Ukraine in its efforts to end the conflict. In addition, the United Kingdom insists on Russia’s implementation of the Minsk agreements.
As we reported earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Russian President Vladimir Putin, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel met on December 9 in Paris at the Normandy Summit.
The four agreed to implement measures to stabilize the situation in the Donbas conflict zone. The parties have committed themselves to implement all the necessary measures to support the ceasefire before the end of 2019.
