President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko met President of Poland Andrzej Duda at the 72nd UN General Assembly in New York as the official website of the Ukrainian leader reported.

The sides discussed the number of bilateral issues, including security. Also, they discussed the strengthening of the cooperation between the countries in the energy security and cross-border cooperation spheres.

Moreover, the presidents discussed the closer cooperation between defensive establishments of both Poland and Ukraine in the context of holding of the Russian-Belarusian West-2017 military drills.

The Ukrainian President thanked Poland for its strong support in the implementation of the visa-free regime. President Duda noted that Poland consistently supports Ukraine on the path to the EU membership.

The leaders also raised the issues of the Minsk Agreements fulfillments and the deployment of the UN peacekeeping mission in Donbas.

The sides also drew special attention to the organization of the visit to Ukraine of President Duda in late 2017.
