The United Kingdom and the United Nations are going to hold a climate summit on December 12 to mark the fifth anniversary of the signing of the Paris Climate Agreement, France24 reports.
The statement came days a few days after Chinese President Xi Jinping told the United Nations that the world's largest greenhouse gas pollution would peak in 2030.
"Recent studies have shown that the concentration of greenhouse gases has reached record levels. In this regard, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will co-chair the meeting of world leaders," the statement said.
As of now, the format of the event remains unknown.
As we reported earlier, global warming and the melting of glaciers could release anthrax from other burial grounds, as well as other ancient viruses and bacteria.
According to last year's report of the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, permafrost temperatures rose to a record high. At the end of June 2020, a record high temperature was recorded in Siberia: a record of 32 years ago was broken, the air warmed up to +38 degrees.
