The position of the Russian Federation, which has tried to hold discussions on the implementation of the Minsk agreements at the UN level, is considered to be misleading. This is stated in a joint statement of the United Kingdom, the United States, and Estonia, Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN Serhiy Kyslytsia reports on his Facebook page.
"Today, Russia held a meeting at the UN on what it considers to be the status of the implementation of the Minsk agreements. This meeting was an open attempt to present a false and deceptive narrative about the conflict in eastern Ukraine," the statement said.
The statement also says that Russia is an active participant in the training, equipping, and managing of armed groups in the areas that are not under Ukraine’s control.
"It has provoked and continues to inflame the conflict, which has resulted in approximately 13,000 deaths, horrific human rights abuses, and a deteriorating humanitarian situation for the civilian population," reads the message.
