"During 2014-2020, within the framework of the UN humanitarian response plans, more than $ 500 million were attracted for humanitarian assistance to the affected population in Ukraine," the statement said.
In total, during 2020, assistance is provided to more than 2 million citizens who have suffered from hostilities in the region. As of October 22 this year, the UN has already mobilized $ 82 million for the implementation of the Plan.
Earlier it was reported that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed the UN to develop a joint plan for the restoration of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. He also urged to take part in the implementation of the project to provide Donbas with drinking water.
"We would like you to pay attention to such an important project, which is very difficult for us to pull out only at the expense of the budget of Ukraine - this is the issue of drinking water for Donbas," the head of state emphasized.
He noted that we are talking about both reconstruction and construction of a water supply network. The head of state recalled that Switzerland is participating in the project.
As we reported earlier, the free economic zone in Donbas will be introduced only in the territory controlled by Ukraine.
