The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia claimed that the number of the citizens of Ukraine that visited Russia in the first half of 2017 increased in the comparison with the indexes of the same period of time last year. Grigory Karasin, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia claimed this to Kommersant.
According to him, it is an index of the restoration of the ties between Ukraine and Russia at the national level.
‘The real relations between Ukraine and Russia at the national level began to restore step by step. The mutual passenger flow increases. The number of the Ukrainians that visited Russian increased by 56.1% in the first half of 2017 in the comparison with the indexes of the same period of time in 2016’, Karasin claimed.
He also noticed the increase of the turnover between the countries.
‘The upward trend is also noticed in the turnover. Preliminary, the turnover between Ukraine and Russia increased by 24.7% in 2017 in comparison with the previous year’, he said.
Earlier the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine claimed that 5.7 million of the Ukrainians visited Russia since the beginning of 2017.
