The procedure of obtaining Russian citizenship will be simplified for the citizens of Belarus and Ukraine, as Interfax-Zapad reported citing Head of Chief Department of Migration of the Russian Interior Ministry Valentyna Kazakova.
“The bills are elaborated, which allow simplifying the procedure of obtaining citizenship for our closest neighbors – the citizens of Belarus, the citizens of Ukraine, we offer to release them from passing the interview for recognition of them as native speakers of Russian,” Kazakova said.
She added that the possibility of obtaining the citizenship of Russia after receiving of residence permit is provided for the citizens of these two states, Kazakhstan and Moldova.
“The easier for foreign citizens to process the documents, the less negative phenomena in the form of the organization of the illegal migration will take place,” Kazakova said.
She noted that in 2019, the ministry elaborated and issued about 80 legal and regulatory instruments, not considering the orders of the Interior Ministry, which "were tied with the regulation of the migration legislation and its improvement."
