Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations Volodymyr Yelchenko called Israeli settlements in the Palestinian territories contradicting to international law. This Yelchenko wrote on Twitter.
"Israeli settlements in the occupied territories are the contravention of international law as it was the Russian occupation of Crimea", - wrote Yelchenko.
After a while Yelchenko wrote that international law is one for all, and they can not twist it, as "the dog's tail."
We recall, on 23 December, the UN Security Council adopted a resolution which stated that the building of Israeli settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territory "has no legal force and is a flagrant violation of international law."
It was supported by 14 members of the Security Council, including Ukraine. The United States, which had previously blocked similar projects, abstained. The authors of the document are Malaysia, New Zealand, Senegal and Venezuela.
After Ukraine supported the resolution, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has canceled a planned visit of Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman.
