Ukrainian journalist Roman Sushchenko is going stay in custody until January 30, 2017. The Moscow court didn’t satisfy the appeal by his lawyers and upheld the previous decision in this case. Mark Feygin, Sushchenko’s lawyer tweeted this on Thursday.
Мосгорсуд отклонил жалобу на арест Романа Сущенко.— Mark Feygin (@mark_feygin) 15 декабря 2016 г.
Earlier today, Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry urged the Russian Federation yet again to free the reporter, calling the case against him political.
As 112 International reported, Sushchenko was detained in Moscow in late September; he was accused of espionage and arrested. On November, 2, the court extended the imprisonment for Suschchenko for another two months – until late January 2017.
