The Verkhovna Rada, the Ukrainian Parliament supported the draft law on letting inquiry officers, investigators and prosecutors to the area of the Joint Forces Operation. 292 MPs supported for the respective draft law, No.3984.
The document submits changes to the law on state policy to support Ukraine's state sovereignty in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
The officials will be allowed to enter and exit the territory of combat zone; all those responsible for control on entry-exit checkpoints are obliged to provide due assistance for these officials.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky predicts that people in the occupied Donbas will soon rebel against the occupying power. He voiced this opinion in an interview with the Austrian newspaper Wiener Zeitung.
"Many of these people are invected with coronavirus, they are dealing with a humanitarian catastrophe there. And people living in the occupied part of Donbas can see how Ukrainians live on the other side of the front, which is better. Miners in the occupied Donbas are doing poorly: they do not receive a normal salary and are forced to pay for water and electricity at a high price. If the patience of the people there runs out at some point, there may be riots," Zelensky said.
He emphasized that there was a possibility of an internal conflict arising as many people remained pro-Ukrainian.
