Head of the Ukrainian Parliament Dmytro Razumkov congratulated Ukraine's Armed Forces on the professional holiday.
"We've got another big holiday today. It's the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It's a true holiday, but the one with a bitter aftertaste. On my behalf, and I'm sure, on that of the entire lawmakers' corps, I'd like to thank our Armed Forces, our warriors who now serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who protect us on the frontline, who give us the opportunity to live peacefully in cities and villages of the most part of our state. It's an invaluable work that we've got to appreciate. I'd like to wish [them all] health, and the fastest possible return home from the front - to their families and close ones, alive and well", Razumkov said.
Lawmakers paid tribute to the fallen warriors with a moment of silence.
As is known, on December 6, Ukrainians mark the Armed Forces Day. The holiday has been observed annually since 1993; Ground Forces, the Navy and the Air Force celebrate this day all together.
