Ukrainian Parliament schedules presidential elections for March 31, 2019

The Ukrainian Parliament adopted draft decree № 9342 about the appointment of the next presidential elections in Ukraine. 298 people’s deputies have positively voted for the decree, 112 Ukraine has been broadcasting the event.

Earlier we reported that the representatives of Ukrainian parliamentary delegation in NATO Parliamentary Assembly met with Canadian colleagues, invited as observers in Ukrainian elections in 2019.

‘Canadian friends noted that Ukraine-Canada parliamentary friendship groups can do more for strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries. I have invited our Canadian friends to visit Ukraine the next year to observe the presidential elections,’ First Deputy Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament Iryna Gerashchenko claimed. 

As reported before, so-called elections took place in the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions on November 11. The voters elected the leaders of "people's republics" and their representatives in the parliaments of the "republics."

A member of the Hungarian party Jobbik and a representative of Bekes regional council in the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe Tamás Samu Gergő visited occupied territories of Donbas to observe the “elections” held by the militants.
