On Tuesday, Verkhovna Rada, the Ukrainian Parliament looked into hundreds of amendments to the draft bill about the reintegration of the occupied areas of Donbas. The final vote did not occur, though.
MPs submitted 673 amendments, 374 of them turned down by the respective committee. Lawmakers from Batkivshchyna, Samopomich and Opposition Bloc parties criticized the bill, so many MPs from the pro-presidential Petro Poroshenko’s Bloc said they deliberately dragged the vote for the law.
The clashes that took place near the Parliament's building on Tuesday noon quickly calmed down; the police reported no casualties, one protester was detained.
