The Verkhovna Rada supported the bill №6192 on the settlement of the issue of social protection of coronavirus victims (Covid-19) of medical workers of health care institutions of all forms of ownership. 320 MPs voted for the bill in the first reading and in general (with 226 necessary to pass the decision).

The bill proposes to extend the provisions of the Law "On Protection of the Population from Infectious Diseases" on insurance benefits in the event of disability or death due to coronavirus infection (Covid-19) in the workplace to medical workers of private health care institutions and employees of natural persons - entrepreneurs, as well as doctors who work as self-employed people," the accompanying documents state.

In addition, it is proposed to resume the right of health workers of private health care institutions or their relatives, if they have not yet received adequate insurance benefits due to a gap in the legislation.

As it was reported, earlier the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported bill #3376-1, which provides the state insurance for employees of the medical and academic institutions who got a degree of disability or died due to the coronavirus.
