Ukraine’s lawmakers supported the decision to detain and arrest Mykhailo Dobkin, their colleague and the ex-mayor of Kharkiv city. 288 MPs voted yes to lifting the parliamentary immunity from him; 242 supported the decision to arrest Dobkin.

Commenting on the decision, the official said he was ‘absolutely sure that Kharkiv city council never made a single illegal decision or acted against the law’ while he served as the city’s mayor.

Mykhailo Dobkin is suspected of power abuse and fraud assistance with intent of gaining possession of 78 hectares of land property in Kharkiv with the laid-down cost of 8.4 million dollars.

As we reported earlier, the regulatory committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine found the accusations of the General Prosecutor’s Office together with the National Anti-Corruption Bureau against Boryslav Rozenblat reasonable and shall recommend lifting his immunity and further investigation.

Also, the officers of National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) have detained the bodyguard of people’s deputy Boryslav Rozenblat on $200 thousand bribe. According to SAP, the bribe was intended for MPs Boryslav Rozenblat and Maksym Poliakov, they are denying it and calling the occurrence a "provocation".

The previous week, the Regulatory committee found groundless accusations against another Ukrainian MP Deidei of illicit enrichment.

Parliament’s Regulatory committee also found groundless the filing on lifting deputy’s immunity of Oles Dovhy

The committee didn’t recommend lifting immunity from Andriy Lozovy either, a Ukrainian MP from the Radical Party of Oleh Lyashko, as well as from the сorrupt MP Polyakov retains his immunity in Parliament.

Later three lawmakers suspected in bribery were stripped of their parliamentary immunity
