"We badly lack aviation and anti-aircraft defense. We don't have enough of these now, and this is what we need to improve, developing these technologies on our own or using modern technologies. Why did we purchase Bayraktars (Turkish combat drones, - 112 International)? Because it became a breakthrough in Turkey. We don't produce our own drones so far. On the other hand, I was inspired by the view of Neptune [anti-aircraft missile systems], which I saw during the military parade. Currently, the US has cutting-edge technologies, including the AA systems. It's especially important in the view of the threat from Crimea. We don't need weapons to attack. We need defensive weapons. I stand with the idea that the US could provide us with technical assistance in terms of deployment of various AA systems - without any risks to provoke the Russians", he said.
