NABU started pretrial investigation of the facts, voiced by the MP Oleksandr Onyshchenko in his announcements, who is now wanted for economic crimes. Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine Artem Sytnyk announced that, reports zn.ua.
According to Sytnyk, the investigation concerns the facts of tampering MPs of the Verkhovna Rada for voting on the resignation of the heads of the General Prosecutor’s Office and the Security Service of Ukraine and on the appointment of the new Prosecutor General.
“We registered a criminal proceeding on the basis of the announcements of the people’s deputy of Ukraine Oleksandr Onyshchenko about the fact of tampering Ukrainian MPs. Of course, some part of his announcements has no criminal grounds, to my mind, but there are some specific announcements about actual votings. This was said by the person who took part in this. There were no such announcements while I work here,” he said.
According to Sytnyk, every day there are a lot of announcements about tampering MPs, but for the first time it is voiced by the MP who actually participated in these crimes.
“He (Onyshchenko) is not simply saying that someone bribes someone – politicians make these announcements every day, but they are manipulative to some extent in order to falsify the reputation of the political opponent. But such kind of an announcement is made for the first time ever, at least after the revolution of dignity when the deputy himself is saying about participating in these processes,” noted the Head of NABU.
“That’s why I’d call this announcement an actual voluntary surrender voiced on air of the TV channels, the Russian ones, unfortunately. That’s why we decided that if there is such a nuance that this is not just an announcement of a political party against another political party and this is an announcement of a specific person, who confirms his participation in tampering and passing money, then we shall register this criminal proceeding,” said Sytnyk.
The Director of NABU said that Oleksandr Onyshchenko will be offered to hand over audio and video recordings, which he states he has and give more specific evidences on every issue in frames of pre-trial investigation, which was initiated on Wednesday, December 7.
Previously Onyshchenko announced that his attorneys have sent their requests about the meeting on these matters to NABU three times already.
“They do not want to. We officially applied for three times during the last month. We did receive the replies. They didn’t want to meet in London, They offer a meeting in Warsaw,” Onyshchenko told.
Previously, the People's deputy of Ukraine Oles Dovgiy confirmed two meetings with his colleague, parliamentarian Olexander Onyshchenko.
Earlier, a scandalous article was also published by The Independent regarding Onyshchenko claims about Ukrainian authorities.
