Any broadcast of the approaching FIFA World Cup in Russia should be banned in Ukraine; this is stipulated in the draft law No. 8343, offered by the MPs from Radical Party and Samopomich party.

The bill offers the Ukrainian Parliament to officially recognize the broadcast of the tournament in Ukraine illegal.

'The ban of broadcasting the official events that are to take place within the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia... will be an up-to-date and effective tool that prevents any promotion of the aggressor state', reads the explanatory note.

Previously, Ukraine's National Public TV Company said it would not broadcast the competition.

The football World Cup 2018 is to kick off in Russia in June.
