Ukraine’s military scientists presented a couple of new items for the army. They demonstrated Casper, the urgent medical evacuation system, and Sauron, the complex for drone detection and surveillance. Press service of Ukraine’s defense ministry reported this on Thursday.
‘Casper was developed by the Science Centre of Communications Institute. It is purely Ukrainian invention, which uses special software. It comprises of special beacons, which point the coordinates of the wounded fighter, using signals via the satellite. Sauron is another unique development, which makes the possible gathering, processing and sending video information about detected drones on the real-time basis. It can also remotely control video sensors via radio channel’, the press service said.
According to Major General Volodymyr Rapko, currently, the Ukrainian army’s communication systems and automatic control systems meet the NATO requirements, ‘We’re aiming to reach full compatibility with standards of the Alliance’s member countries; this is why we carry on, rearming the military with cutting-edge means of communication,’ he said.
