The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine demands from Russia to set Roman Sushchenko and Mykola Semena free. They are illegally detained in Russia and Crimea. Mariana Betsa the speaker of Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported this at Twitter.
'Exactly at the Journalist Day we demand from Russia to stop the political repression of the journalists Sushchenko and Semena', she wrote.
The Crimean department of FSB opened the investigation upon the part 2 article 280.1 of Criminal Code of Russia towards Mykola Semena in spring 2017. The reason for this was the article of the journalist: Blockade is the necessary first step to free Crimea.
Roman Sushchenko, the journalist of the Ukrinform in violation of the international law was detained on September 30 in 2016 in Moscow. He was accused of the spying on October 7. The FSB of Russia claimed that he is the worker of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. This statement was disapproved by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense. The Lefortovskiy District Court of Moscow prolonged the detention of Sushchenko for 30 days on April 26. Mark Feygin, the advocate of the journalist made a complaint for this decision to Moscow City Court.
