Health Minister Maksym Stepanov is convinced that Ukraine needs a three-week lockdown, and there are reasons for that. This opinion was voiced by the head of the Ministry of Health on the air of ICTV TV channel, RBC Ukraine reports.
"We need the lockdown, we need a three-week lockdown because we have seasonal exacerbations of the flu, in addition to the current situation with Covid-19, and it all has an impact," the minister said.
He stressed the importance of reducing the incidence by February in order to balance all indicators.
As we reported earlier, according to Kyiv mayor Vitaliy Klitschko, the occupancy of beds in the city's medical institutions is almost 57%.
"The occupancy of beds in Kyiv hospitals makes almost 57%," he said.
The mayor also added that in total, 2,222 patients with coronavirus were being treated in the city's medical institutions, 35 of them were children.
Besides that, 926 patients are in serious condition, and 1,335 people are currently receiving oxygen support.
