The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has changed its approaches to dividing regions into quarantine zones according to the level of coronavirus infection. The relevant decision was made at today's government meeting.
According to the changes proposed by the head of the Health Ministry Maksym Stepanov, the city or district will be included in the "red" zone in the case of:
1) occupancy of 75% of beds in medical institutions in the region for five consecutive days;
2) excess incidence of Covid-19 by more than five times compared to the national average (per 100 thousand population in 14 days).
Anti-epidemic restrictions will be determined by a joint decision of the state and regional commissions on technogenic and ecological safety and emergency situations.
As we reported earlier, The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine predicts about 50 deaths from coronavirus per day in the foreseeable future.
"In accordance with the scenarios considered, the regions with the highest expected number of infected are Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Odesa, Ternopil, Kharkiv, Khmelnytsky, Chernivtsi regions, and Kyiv," the message says.
