The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to extend the adaptive lockdown until August 31. The relevant decision was made at a session of the government.

"We all see that this format and approach to quarantine measures allows us to control the incidence level in Ukraine. All the work at the level of individual regions, at the local level has proven its effectiveness, therefore, we will practice and continue applying such approaches to control the incidence rate and prevent peaks or overload of the health care system,” Ukraine's PM Denys Shmygal stated.

The Prime Minister also hopes that the adaptive quarantine will ease the burden on hospitals and doctors.

As we reported earlier, the Ukrainian regions will be divided into four zones - "green", "yellow", "orange" and "red" with clear criteria for restrictions.

Meanwhile, 829 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in Ukraine over the last 24 hours.

The overall number of cases made 60,995 (33,172 people recovered and 1,534 deceased).
