The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has finished developing programs that are set to support citizens and businesses in the event of the strengthening of quarantine restrictions. This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmygal.
The government has developed three programs. One of them will concern sole proprietors and employees who lose their jobs due to quarantine. They will be able to receive 8,000 hryvnias (282 dollars) in assistance. More than one million Ukrainian citizens will be able to receive financial assistance under this program, and its total amount will be 10 billion hryvnias (352 million dollars).
All these programs will be submitted by the government to the Verkhovna Rada.
As we reported earlier, the State Treasury of Ukraine stopped the financing of all unsecured expenses. Thus, the state refused to finance, first of all, capital expenditures – maintenance, reconstruction, building, and others.
“The recent requests from the chief controller of the budget funds for holding of unsecured expenses were served by the State Treasury on November 20. In 2019, a similar step, due to the transfer of the budget funds and non-fulfillment of the income from the customs, was made by PM Oleksiy Honcharuk on December 17,” the statement said.
