The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the Concept for the Development of Artificial Intelligence in Ukraine and instructed the Ministry of Digital Transformation to develop a plan for its implementation within three months. The relevant order was finalized by the government, Ukrinform reports.
"To date, Ukraine has the largest number of artificial intelligence companies in Eastern Europe. At the beginning of 2020, we had almost 150 suppliers with sufficient experience in the field of artificial intelligence. The industry is developing rapidly. It is extremely crucial for us to develop a clear strategy for the state and private sector development of artificial intelligence in our country,” claimed Mykhailo Fedorov, Vice Prime Minister.
The concept is aimed at increasing the competitiveness of Ukraine through the use of artificial intelligence technologies in the socio-economic, scientific and technical, defense, environmental, and national-cultural spheres of national importance.
As we reported earlier, Microsoft is planning to replace contracted journalists with robots.
"Like all companies, we regularly evaluate our business. This can lead to increased investments in some places and, from time to time, to redistribution in others. These decisions are not the result of the current pandemic," the statement said.
