Two new Ministries appeared in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. The respective document has been published on the website of the Cabinet.
"The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport will be shaped by the means of the reorganization of the Ministry of Information Policy, passing the newly shaped authority the tasks and functions of the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Youth and Sport, which are terminated... The Ministry of Digital Transformation will be shaped by the means of transformation of the State Agency for Digital Governance," the document says.
Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food is now merged with that of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture; Ministry of Energy and Coal Production is merged with the Ministry for Energy and Environmental Protection. Ministry for Temporarily Occupied Territories and IDPs are merged with the Ministry for Veterans, Temporarily Occupied Territories, and IDPs.
The Finance Ministry is tasked to foresee the expenses that are necessary to implement this decree; the 2019 state budget needs to be amended, respectively.
Recently, DW found out that the new Ukrainian Cabinet, headed by 35-year-old Oleksiy Honcharuk is the youngest in Europe. "In France, the average age of ministers is 56. It is twice the age of the youngest Ukrainian official - Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov. Together with his peer, Estonian Minister of Economy Virginijus Sinkevičius, 28-year-old Fedorov is the youngest minister of Europe," reads the article.
