The government of Ukraine approved the signing of the agreement with the government of Moldova on the joint control of the persons, transport vehicles, goods and items at the joint checkpoints at the Ukrainian-Moldovan state border. The proper decree was approved at the meeting of the government on October 4 as Interfax-Ukraine reported.
According to the explanatory note, the signing of the agreement provides the further development of the good neighborly relations with Moldova.
Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Petro Tsyhykal signed the document from the Ukrainian side.
Ukraine and Moldova implemented the joint control at the checkpoint Kuchurgan-Pervomaisk in Odesa region on July 17, 2017. President Petro Poroshenko and Moldovan Prime Minister Pavel Filip took part in the event. The mentioned part of the border is under control of the self-proclaimed Transnistria.
