Pavlo Klimkin, the Foreign Minister of Ukraine intends to meet the direction of the Siemens Company in Munich. He wants to discuss the supply of the gas turbines to annexed Crimea by the company as 112 Ukraine broadcasted.
'I will meet the Director of Siemens. I want to check how Siemens held the inner investigation on the turbines that were somehow stolen from them and then delivered in occupied Crimea. We work with the Siemens and want to implement the practice for all companies to write into all contracts the responsibility if Russia will try to manipulate such supplies. I hope that I will get such assurances from the Siemens' Chef. Then we will negotiate with German and European business', he said.
The scandal on the supply of the Siemens gas turbines to occupied Crimea beyond EU sanctions took place in July 2017. Four gas turbines produced by Siemens were brought to Crimea, having circumvented the sanctions that not allow having business with the occupied territory. Russia claimed they would be used in Taman but secretly brought them to the peninsula.
