Ukrainian entrepreneurs construct airtight chamber for transporting Covid-19 patients

Local entrepreneurs from Kremenchuk (Poltava region, central Ukraine) produced the first airtight chamber to transport those sick with coronavirus. Poltava regional state administration reported that on April 14.

THe chamber has been passed for tests to Poltava regional center for urgent medicine and medicine of disasters. It is made from airtight material and weighs 16 kilograms.

"The chamber has a mask inside, as well as devices to supply oxygen, a compressor and filters to sanitize the air. Cuff-gloves are also inserted in the chamber, so that the doctors can perform all sorts of manipulations without contacting the sick", reads the message.

Interestingly, Kremenchuk was the first location in Poltava region where medics detected Covid-19. It occurred in late March 2020. This was stated by Kremenchuk Mayor Vitalii Maletskyi on his Facebook page.

"Unfortunately, there is the first positive express test for Covid-19 in Kremenchuk. A woman, 75, with a previous diagnosis of pneumonia, has not traveled abroad lately. We are now taking all necessary measures and establishing a circle of people who have been contacted the woman. We have sent samples of analyzes to the reference laboratory in Kyiv in order to get the confirmation of the diagnosis," Maletskyi said.
