Ukrainian diplomat Ihor Kyzym, the country’s ambassador in Minsk, received the note from Belarusian foreign ministry, as the Belarusian side protested against illegal crossing of this country’s airspace on September 25.
Diamond DA-42 Twin Star, the light civilian aircraft, crossed the border of Belarus and entered the airspace, which was, according to the Belarusian side, not agreed with Minsk. ‘Having claimed that the state border cannot be violated, the Belarusian side expects Ukraine to go for all respective measures aiming to avoid such incidents in the future,’ reads the message.
The Diamond DA42 Twin Star is a four seat, twin engine, propeller-driven airplane developed manufactured by Austrian company Diamond Aircraft Industries. It was Diamond's first twin engine design, as well as the first new European twin-engine aircraft in its category to be developed in over 25 years. During 2004, the DA42 became the first diesel-powered fixed-wing aircraft to perform a non-stop crossing of the North Atlantic.
