The National Council for TV and Radio Broadcasting offered to introduce fines or criminal responsibility for the Ukrainian artists who perform in Russia. The respective message may be found on the website of the state-run broadcasting agency.
The entity recognized it has no influence on TV and radio channels, demanding them to stop broadcasting performances of the Ukrainian artists performing in Russia, since it may result in judicial proceedings. ‘There’s almost no chance that we protect our position – it can be tolerated ethically, but there are no legal reasons for it,’ he said.
Instead, the council offered to submit respective amendments to the law, which foresee fines or criminal prosecution of such artists. ‘TV and radio channels could be obliged to limit broadcasts of such artists; then, we may get some influence on such artists'.
