Professional sergeant corps trained under NATO standards will emerge in the Ukrainian army by 2020. Oleksandr Kosynsky, the Chief of Sergeant Staff of the General Staff of the Armed Forces said that as quoted by Interfax news agency.
‘We created training centers for sergeants that are similar to these based in NATO member countries. Training courses of leadership for basic and middle levels, as well as new instructor training programs have been introduced,’ Kosynsky said.
The army plans to train up to 500 sergeants every next year; by 2020, the number of NATO-standard sergeants should reach 1,700.
Currently, Sergeants of Ukraine’s Armed Forces complete NATO training programs abroad.
As 112 International reported, since the beginning of the year, 297 Ukrainian instructors completed training under NATO standards.
