The Ukrainian military tested the new shells for Hyacinth artillery systems. According to Oleksandr Turchynov, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, the army lacks 152-mm HE fragmentation ammunition - which is exactly the kind of ammunition tested. The shells are supposed to destroy the manpower, weaponry and fortifications.

The Hyacinth cannon enjoys one of the longest effective ranges among artillery system and the high precision.

The mentioned test took place in Chernihiv region, northern Ukraine.

President Petro Poroshenko uploaded the respective video on Facebook. The head of the state urged that phase one of the test was completed successfully.

The army also tested new mortars and 60 mm mortars. Another 120 mm mortar was checked for fire safety.
