On the day of the Geneva summit of US Joseph Biden and Russian Vladimir Putin Presidents, the State Department will receive the Ambassador of Ukraine. This is stated in the work schedule of the State Department for June 16.
Acting Assistant Secretary of State Reeker will meet with Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova in Washington, DC, at 7:00 p.m. local time.
The topics they will discuss are not reported. The meeting will be closed to the press.
Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin will meet in Swiss Geneva on June 16. It will be the first meeting of the leaders since Biden assumed the presidential office.
Putin and Biden are expected to discuss bilateral relations, strategic stability, as well as topical issues of the international order, the fight against the pandemic and the settlement of regional conflicts.
Also, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia does not expect a joint press conference at the end of Putin-Biden summit.
However, the Kremlin said negotiations are continuing on the final format.
