Western partner countries of Ukraine are ready to introduce tougher sanctions against Russia in case of a new stage of Moscow's armed aggression against this country. President Volodymyr Zelensky said so during his video address, as quoted by his press office.

"We are not afraid because we enjoy powerful support of international partners. I spoke with leaders of the United States of America, France, Germany, Great Britain, Turkey, with President of Council of Europe and NATO Secretary General. Like the rest of partners, they are on our side. They clearly see the true rationale of Russia. They're ready to support us financially. They're ready to introduce new tougher sanctions and approve tougher resolutions", Zelensky said.

According to him, Ukraine is sincerely grateful for all this support; Ukrainian citizens need to clearly understand what the world is capable of in this situation.

"Our citizens need clear signals that eight years into the war, the country, which stands as a shield for Europe at the cost of its people, will get the support - not just as partners, but as players of the same team, directly on the pitch, shoulder to shoulder", Zelensky concluded.
