German Ambassador to Ukraine Anka Feldhusen predicts a full resumption of visa-free travel between Ukraine and the European Union by summer 2021. She said this in an interview with Yevropeiska Pravda.
"My personal prediction is that the current situation will last until the end of spring 2021. By then, the vaccine should still be available, and I hope that this will open the borders for free travel. Although mass vaccination is also a time-consuming process," stated Feldhusen.
She also suggested that the following year's summer vacation in Europe could be a possibility for Ukrainians.
"I will allow myself to use a bit of optimism: I believe that vacations and flights will be available next summer. We are waiting for that as well. For example, my vacation in Iceland did not come to fruition, and I am counting on the next year," the politician added.
As we reported earlier, according to Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, an agreement on political cooperation, free trade, and strategic partnership, signed by Ukraine and the United Kingdom, could simplify the visa regime for Ukrainian citizens.
