Ukraine’s Treasury Service allocates $6,5 million for miners' salary payments

Today, on February 5, State Treasury Service of Ukraine has allocated 6,5 million dollars, which will be aimed at securing the payment of miners' salaries. This was reported by the press service of Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers.

The money will be transferred to the accounts of nine companies.

The government noted that the issue of paying salaries to miners is a key one for the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Protection of Ukraine. The money will be paid in the near future, but the terms have not been named.

It is known that as of January 1, 2020, wage arrears to miners amounted to 37 million dollars. Thus, the debt will be repaid by less than 20%.

As we reported earlier, Ukraine plans to reduce the tax on personal income for Ukrainians who receive the smallest salaries. Serhiy Verlanov, the head of the State Tax Service stated this, the press service of the department informed.

The corresponding changes will be introduced as part of the 2020 tax reform. According to Verlanov, a differentiated tax system will be introduced in Ukraine.
