Ukraine’s Security Service exposed 40 people holding subversive activity against Ukraine

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) exposed 29 foreigners, who held the intelligence activity against Ukraine in 2018 as the SBU reported on Facebook.

“Nine criminal proceedings opened against them due to espionage”, the message said.

Besides, the SBU exposed 11 citizens of Ukraine, who held the intelligence and subversive activity in the favor of the aggressor. Three people were convicted due to the state treason.

Earlier, the SBU uncovered and blocked 360 cyber incidents: 49 administrators of the groups in the social networks were prosecuted for the anti-Ukrainian propaganda, 29 persons were notified about suspicion and 20 sentences came into force.

As we reported the counterintelligence department of Ukraine’s Security Service revealed 71 people involved in the intelligence-sabotage activities of the foreign special services in Ukraine in 2018.

Moreover, the SBU have exposed the ex-worker of one of the research institutes of Kharkiv in the illicit cooperation with the foreign military company.
