Ukraine's state security service, the SBU, detained three people who are suspected in organizing the route of illegal supply of food products from Ukraine-controlled territories to these occupied by Russian invaders, so-called Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics.
The authority's press office reported this June 24.
The SBU found out that the domestic companies were supposed to bring the products abroad, via the Russian territory. But in fact, the supplies were brought to Russia and then again to Ukraine, to the occupied areas in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Three men, suspected in organizing this illegal scheme have been taken in; the overall price of shipped food made more than USD 19 million. The investigation found out that in just one particular case when the supplies were shipped - assumingly, 'to some African country', the additional financial damage to the state budget made more than 296,000 U.S. dollars.
