The land sale moratorium in Ukraine may be canceled by the end of the year. Oleksiy Honcharuk, the Deputy Head of the Office of President of Ukraine, said so in his interview with Bloomberg.
"There's understanding in our team that if no one does it this year, it will be rather difficult [later]", he claimed.
According to the official, the President's Office is talking through this question with the World Bank. Specific discussions concern the model of the land market in Ukraine. For one, the most liberal model of the land market can facilitate the growth of the Ukrainian economy by more than three percent per year. The most conservative model would still let the economy grow by 0.5 percent every year.
"We're looking for the least painful, but the most effective model [of opening the land market, - 112 International]," Honcharuk said.
