President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has discussed the ratification of the Free Trade Area between countries with Speaker of Israeli Knesset Yuli-Yoel Edelstein within the official visit as the presidential press service reported.
“During the meeting, the parties also discussed the issue of the Knesset’s ratification of the Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and Israel to be signed in the framework of the visit of the Ukrainian President,” the message said.
Moreover, the sides discussed the number of issues of the bilateral cooperation in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The parties noted the high dynamics of the bilateral political and inter-parliamentary dialogue between Ukraine and Israel and the important role of the inter-parliamentary groups of friendship in it.
Poroshenko and Edelstein also exchanged the opinions on the actual issues of the international agenda.
As we reported the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine authorized First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv for the signing of the agreement on the Free Trade Area (FTA) with Israel.
Ukraine and Israel completed the technical initializing of the deal earlier this year; the talks were completed in March. Later, in August, the sides agreed to sign it.
