The decree of President Poroshenko about extension of sanctions against Russian companies and individuals involved in the Russian aggression against Ukraine took effect on Monday, October 31.
Another 167 companies and 337 individuals faced restrictions imposed by the Ukrainian government. Many of these individuals are the high-rank ‘officials’ of the self-proclaimed pro-Russian ‘republics’ in eastern Ukraine and the officials working for the Russian government in the occupied Crimea. Some of them are Russia’s leading businessmen, entrepreneurs, CEOs and founders of major Russian banks.
In September 2015, President Poroshenko signed the decree about the introduction of sanctions against Russia. The bill was submitted by the National Security and Defense Council, which thus set the restrictions aganst the companies and the individuals responsible for the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine.
