227 Ukrainian MPs voted for the decree, in which they turned to their counterparts from the lower house of the French Parliament. Thus, Ukraine urged France to refrain from supporting the idea to lift sanctions against Russia.

55 lawmakers of the French Senate supported the respective resolution, with 50 votes necessary to pass the document. The bill is merely  a recommendation and doesn’t imply any obligations for the government; neither does it carry any legal weight.
